iBacc Learning Support
iBacc recognises what each learner achieves through a ladder of awards, earned across the four Quests and evidenced through real work rather than exams alone. Learners progress as they grow, from first steps to the full iBacc Diploma.
In Leadership you become someone who leads with purpose. In Scholarship you build real knowledge across the subjects that open doors. In Craftsmanship you master an art form as a lifelong creative skill. In Citizenship you take on real responsibility and pursue challenging adventures.
The iBacc Learner Profile
Every learner builds a single ongoing profile that gathers their work across all four Quests — the evidence base the awards are drawn from. Each award is a milestone reached within the profile, and the iBacc Diploma is awarded when the profile shows integration across all four.
The profile stays with the learner throughout their time in iBacc. A learner and their mentor add to it as work is completed, building a single record that shows growth across all four Quests over time.
iBacc Learner Accreditation
A learner’s first steps across all four Quests, recording early learning habits as they begin to embed. Evidenced through a growing portfolio of their own work and activities.
Putting the habits to work in real settings. Leadership evidenced by viva, Craftsmanship by assessed portfolio, Citizenship through Scouting or community service, Scholarship through qualifications appropriate to age.
Leading a real project that matters, recognising a learner taking on a sustainability challenge at a higher bar. Citizenship through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Scouting, or a led project; same four-Quest evidence base across Leadership, Craftsmanship and Scholarship.
Bringing all four Quests together. Awarded for demonstrated integration across all four, not as a fifth separate achievement, drawn together in a cross-Quest project and defended in a capstone viva.
