ABOUT THIS COURSE
Aims
Lead iBacc equips experienced practitioners with the strategic knowledge, practical tools, and leadership skills needed to implement, develop, and sustain high-quality iBacc practice across their setting, so that they can coach colleagues and lead whole-school programme development across all four programmes.
Outcomes
When you take the course you will:
- experience being coached through self-assessment, and supporting a colleague through theirs
- theorise the four pillars and four programmes in depth
- plan an audit of current provision and sequence action projects into the strategic plan
- facilitate colleagues using Heron’s categories and modes of facilitation
evaluate whether action projects close audited gaps and colleagues’ practice develops - apply your own modelling of good iBacc practice for colleagues to learn from

COURSE DETAILS
Teach iBacc Certificate of Achievement and the participant’s school must be enrolled in Integrate iBacc

Demonstrate iBacc is the final self-directed module and constitutes the course assessment. Assessment involves providing short reflective answers to the key questions associated with the Experience, Theorise, Plan, Facilitate, Evaluate, Apply and Deliver modules, assessed against four criteria:
- Engaged — you have made a genuine attempt to run the action project in your own practice.
- Understood — you use accurate and relevant iBacc vocabulary (the seven habits, the nine modes, Heron’s categories and modes of facilitation) correctly.
- Assimilated — you can connect what you did to the wider iBacc framework, not just describe it in isolation.
- Reflected — you show genuine reflection on what went well and what you’d do differently.
The course outcomes are as follows:
- Certificate of Attendance (100% attendance, i.e. 6/6 modules)
- Option to catch up via video and assessment for those with >66.67% attendance (4/6 or 5/6 modules)
- Option to retake the course for those with <66.67% attendance (1, 2, or 3 modules)
Those with a Certificate of Attendance may apply for a Certificate of Achievement, obtained after completing Deliver and Demonstrate and passing the assessment.
You have 12 weeks from the end of Lead iBacc to complete Deliver, and a further 12 weeks from completing Deliver to complete Demonstrate and pass the assessment.
